Dinbook Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 October 2026
Dinbook ("Dinbook: Maid & Milk Diary", "the app") is made by Workaholic Developers ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app stores, what (if anything) leaves your phone, and the choices you have.
In short: your diary lives on your phone. Nothing is sent to our server unless you turn on family sharing. Helper photos and ID documents never leave your phone. No ads, no analytics, no trackers, and we never sell data.
1. What stays on your phone
Dinbook works without an account and without an internet connection. Everything you enter is stored only on your device:
- Your helpers (maid, cook, driver, milkman, newspaper and others): names, roles, pay terms, phone numbers, UPI IDs, start dates, weekly offs and salary history.
- The daily diary: attendance, quantities, notes and who marked each day.
- Bills, advances, bonuses and deductions, and payments.
- Helper photos and ID-document photos. These are never uploaded, not even with family sharing. The ID photo is also encrypted on the device.
- Your settings, such as language, currency and reminder times.
Reminders ("Mark today's diary?", "Salary due") are scheduled by your phone's own notification system. We do not receive them.
2. Family sharing (optional)
Family sharing keeps one diary on several phones in your home. Only if you turn it on (by creating a family diary or joining one with an invite code) does the app talk to our server, and the server then stores:
- An anonymous account for your phone: a random identifier and the display name you choose (your family sees it as "marked by Asha"). We never ask for your email address, phone number or a password.
- The household: its name, its currency, who its members are and who the owner is.
- The shared diary: helpers' names, roles, pay terms, phone numbers and UPI IDs; attendance entries with their notes and "marked by"; advances; bonuses and deductions; and payments. These records are encrypted in our database.
- For each phone: a push notification token (from Apple or Google), the platform (iOS or Android), the app language and the app version.
Only the members of your family diary can see the shared diary. Invite codes are valid for 7 days and the owner can revoke them, remove members or delete the family diary at any time.
3. Notifications
Daily and month-end reminders are scheduled on your phone. With family sharing on, our server sends a push notification only for family events: someone joined your family diary, a payment was recorded or an advance was given. They are delivered through Apple Push Notification service (iPhone) or Firebase Cloud Messaging (Android).
4. What we don't do
- No advertising, no analytics and no third-party trackers, in the app or on this website.
- We never sell, rent or share your data with anyone for their own use.
- This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other websites.
5. Keeping and deleting data
- Leaving the family diary in the app deletes your account from our server, together with your devices and push tokens.
- When the last member leaves, or the owner deletes the family diary, all its records are deleted from our server. Phones keep their own local copy until you erase it.
- To erase the diary on your phone, use Settings › Data › Erase in the app, or delete the app.
- Server logs are kept for at most 14 days.
6. Where data is stored and how it is protected
Family-sharing data is hosted in a data centre operated by our hosting provider. It travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS), and the shared diary records are encrypted at rest. Access to the server is limited to us.
7. Children
Dinbook is not directed to children and is meant to be used by adults who run a household.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
